eLearning is a flexible method of studying online which is designed to fit around your current work and existing personal commitments. You can choose how and when you study – at a time which is totally convenient for you. You will not need to travel to any classes as studying is entirely accessible online – 24/7.
It has been developed in partnership with the Department for Education to support parents and carers in understanding the importance of creating a positive home learning environment and a balanced sense of wellbeing.
You will learn how to do everyday things with your child, which will broaden their ability to talk, read and think for themselves – whilst having fun; as well as discover how you can be more reflective and develop a greater sense of wellbeing in yourself and your children.
The course is divided into 10 mini modules – approximately 10/20 minutes each. Each module contains the latest messages from research with the information, tasks, homework and practical resources you will need to understand and digest before moving on to the next module. Once you have completed the course, you will be able to download your certificate.

No exams are assigned to this eLearning course, as we operate an assignment-based approach for each module instead of exams. All assessments are based on your written Reflective Diary entries and work-based learning assignments. Each piece of work that is submitted is uploaded on our online platform and your eTutor will have direct access to assess it.
Your work will be assessed using a range of methods including your diary entries during and at the end of each module. Diary Entries: throughout each module you will be asked to complete an entry in your Diary in which you reflect on what you have learnt, explaining the relevance it has on your personal life and/or your family life. It is designed to assess your overall understanding of each intended module learning outcome.
No, but you can write as much as you feel to in order to express your own opinions, experience and share opinions and ideas.
In each module there is one question set within the Reflective Online Diary to prompt you into covering all aspects learnt. You should aim to answer each question.
Initially, it will be your personal eTutor who assesses your work in order to confirm that you have achieved all the learning outcomes. However, for quality assurance purposes, small anonymous and positive extracts ‘may be’ used for sharing best practice either online or for promotional purposes.
Be yourself. Direct plagiarism or downloaded content from the internet or other sources is forbidden and will not be acceptable as the eLearners own contribution to the programme, unless it is appropriately referenced and included as ‘part’ of their learning.
It is always good practice and a precaution to save your work – just in case. You can download your entries via the “My notes” menu.
