Creating space for conversations that truly matter

Where dialogue replaces debate and people feel heard, not judged.

The Institute of Wellbeing Conversation Hubs are structured, facilitated dialogue sessions designed to bring people together around the topics that shape our lives, from parenting and identity to community wellbeing and public issues.

At a time when conversations often feel polarised or unproductive, Conversation Hubs offer something different: a space where people can speak openly, listen deeply, and leave with a stronger sense of understanding and connection.

Be part of something meaningful

We invite you to take part in a guided space where people listen, share, and grow—together.

A Conversation Hub is a guided group session developed by the Institute of Wellbeing, built around one core principle: dialogue over debate.

  • Encourage open, respectful discussion
  • Create psychological safety for participants
  • Support people to explore different perspectives
  • Build trust across diverse groups

These sessions are carefully facilitated to avoid the breakdowns that often happen in public conversations. Instead, they create an environment where people feel heard, even when viewpoints differ.

Conversation Hubs play a vital role in strengthening both individuals and communities and serve three connected purposes:

Building Community Wellbeing

They bring together people who may feel disconnected – from services, from information, or from each other. Through honest and respectful dialogue, participants build relationships, share experiences, and access support in a meaningful way.

Generating Real Insight

Each session provides valuable, real-time insight into the challenges, needs, and lived experiences of communities. This helps the Institute of Wellbeing shape programmes and solutions that are truly relevant and responsive.

Supporting Wider Impact

Conversation Hubs are a key part of delivering wider wellbeing initiatives, including the ‘Best Start in Life initiative’. They have been used to embed government messaging, perform listening exercises with hard-to-reach communities, and create partnerships with local services.

Conversation Hubs are designed for people who:

  • Feel disconnected from mainstream services
  • Lack access to relevant or accessible information
  • Want a safe space to explore challenges and differences
  • Are looking to feel heard, understood, and supported

Sessions cover a wide range of topics, including:

  • Parenting and early years development
  • Home learning environments
  • Fatherhood and family roles
  • Culture, identity, and ethnicity
  • Community challenges and public health
  • Environment and wider social issues

All Conversation Hubs are led by trained, experienced and registered Institute of Wellbeing facilitators.

Our facilitators are skilled in creating safe and inclusive environments, guiding meaningful, balanced discussions, navigating sensitive or complex topics and ensuring every voice has the opportunity to be heard.
