Forget New Year Resolutions and write your own ‘Gratitude List’

Step 1: What Do You #Appreciate?

Inner security and peace comes when acknowledging and appreciating things the way they are in our life – good or challenging, big or small.

Appreciation is thankful recognition of someone or something of value and importance. Or, as #HeartMath Solution puts it… “appreciation means some blend of thankfulness, admiration, approval, and gratitude. In the financial world, something that ‘appreciates’ grows in value. With the power tool of appreciation, you get the benefit of both perspectives: as you learn to be consistently thankful and approving, your life will grow in value.”

Today lets try to feel, do and be appreciative. Without focusing on how grateful we should feel and expressing it, we are not really being the better person we should strive to be. If it helps, write a list of what you are thankful for. You can add to this list daily. This simply personal task will hopefully help you to be more resilient during difficult times too.

Take a moment either at the start, middle or end of the day to reflect – you’ll find that things to be appreciative for is all around you. To teach and guide you on your journey towards wholeness.

As Professor Stewart-Brown says, “No-one can give you wellbeing. It’s you who has to take action.” And as CEO Mike Kelly from the Institute of Wellbeing says time and time again, “It is you who has to discover your sense of wellbeing to #BeWell .“
